Volunteer Abroad in Vietnam

Volunteers in Vietnam find a large and diverse land. Nearly the size of Germany, Vietnam is known for its natural beauty. Miles of sparkling coastline blend seamlessly with the Mountains that cover three-fourths of the land. Vietnam’s complex political history is now focused on economic development as a national priority. Sports are popular in Vietnam, as is good food! Pho, spring rolls and green tea are must-haves. With history dating back thousands of years, temples, historic sites and traditions abound. Volunteers here are often surprised by temperatures that vary from extreme cold in the mountains to hot and humid in the central regions.

United Planet is the US and Canadian partner of the International Cultural Youth Exchange, or ICYE. As a volunteer in Vietnam, you will be hosted by Volunteers for Peace Vietnam, ICYE’s Vietnamese partner organization. VPV started in 2005 with the aim to promote international voluntary service as a means of cultural and educational exchange among people – for peace, friendship and understanding.

About Our Quest Fee

We want you to succeed. That means having in place the support our volunteers need. We don’t just drop you in country and hope for the best. We provide training before you leave … language exposure … 24/7 in-country support … support for your host family … accommodations, meals and airport transportation … activities and excursions. The whole idea is to make the experience successful and productive for you and the host community, and we have found that these things are crucial. Remember that we are a non-profit, mission-driven organization – we wouldn’t spend money on something that wasn’t important.
