All travelers will be required to provide a negative PCR COVID-19 test within 3 days of travel. A negative PCR or antigen COVID-19 test will be required to reenter the United States. All travelers must adhere to all safety protocols during travel, including social distancing, mask-wearing, hand-washing, etc. United Planet provides emergency travel and medical insurance for all volunteers. All Mexico staff members participate in extensive health and safety training and are available 24/7 during the program. We register all of our volunteers with the US Department of State’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). We recommend booking a doctor’s appointment or visiting a travel health clinic before the trip to update any needed vaccinations.

Due to varying airline prices, United Planet does not arrange or cover the cost of flights to and from Mexico. You will need to arrive and depart Mexico City International Airport (MEX) on the listed program dates. Arrival before 6 pm preferred and Departure after 10 am. All ground transportation to and from the airport in Mexico as well as daily activities will be provided unless outside of the preferred times listed above. If you arrive before or depart after the listed program dates, you are responsible for making any needed lodging and transportation reservations.
