The Peace Corps Alternative: Always a Good Time to Volunteer!

February 12, 2013Karina Vallejo

Have you ever wondered, what if I had taken a gap year after college or signed up for Peace Corps?

Well, it is never too late to volunteer abroad! United Planet offers a variety of Peace Corps alternatives that are made to fit your schedule. With United Planet Quest programs, you don’t have to choose among work, family, and the opportunity to travel and make a difference in the world. United Planet offers you the possibility to do it all!

United Planet: Alternative to the Peace CorpsSo your current commitments do not allow you to apply for a long-term volunteer program? That’s okay! At United Planet we are flexible. We want you to have the best experience while fulfilling your dreams. Our customized programs allow you to freely choose the place and length of your service. With the Peace Corps, you are required to volunteer for several years and will get placed in a destination according to local demand and your skill set. At United Planet we let you choose. Our variety of programs adjusts to your schedule and interests.

With over 40 destinations worldwide, you are free to select the destination by landscape, culture, project of interest, language, etc. United Planet offers full assistance with your choice of destination, training prior to departure, and full-time on-site support from our in-country coordinators.

Volunteering in PeruUnited Planet shares Peace Corps’ mission of fostering cross-cultural understanding, and we want to give everyone the opportunity to experience a volunteer trip abroad. We do our best to make your experience unforgettable and culturally enriching. We give you the opportunity to immerse in the culture of your chosen destination by making host families available to you, and we extend the cultural experience by providing excursions to local landmarks and museums. For a more complete immersion, we make language lessons and other cultural workshops like cooking and dancing available to you.

United Planet Quest programs are a wonderful Peace Corps alternative, giving you the chance to make a difference and immerse yourself in a new culture, while providing the flexibility that you need.

Are you ready to see the world with different eyes? To meet other people who have similar interests and create lifelong friendships? We want to hear from you- where would you like to volunteer?
