Physical Therapy Volunteers in Ecuador

Volunteers with United Planet can work in a health center to provide physical and occupational therapy services in Ecuador. While assisting professional doctors, a group from Navarro College had the chance to volunteer in Ecuador.

Sarah Austin was the Group Leader for the recent college group from Navarro College that volunteered in Ecuador. As the PTA Program Director at Navarro College, a Global Health Quest with United Planet only made sense. Sarah had nothing but kind words for the people she met during the trip. This ranged from their tour guide, Stefany, to the locals in the area. Here’s her testimony on the group’s experience in Ecuador:

“Our trip to Ecuador was life-changing. I think most people say these things after a trip like this because they take pleasure in helping others and making an impact where they go. I think I went in with this mindset but it changed as the week went on. I began to see how the people that we encountered actually fed into me and ministered to me in a way I had never thought. The people of Ecuador are beautiful and show kindness like no other. Truly, a pivtal piece to our trip was Stefany, our tour leader, and Fernando, our bus driver. The energy level and passion that they have for their country, as well as the kindness and joy they showed to our group, was the piece that held the entire trip together. I will continue to use United Planet annually!! Beautiful experience and would love to chat with anyone who would like to know more.”
