Happy United Planet Day: Sharing A Moment in Time

September 11, 2019United Planet

The Fall Equinox is the time of the year when the middle of the sun is positioned above and below the horizon—shining on every location on Earth for an equal amount of time. This once a year occurrence represents United Planet’s mission of creating a global community, one relationship at a time. We connect volunteers who want to make a difference with communities in 35 countries, where they learn, teach, work, engage and immerse themselves in a culture outside their comfort zone. We created United Planet Day to celebrate this special occasion.

What United Planet Day means?

A day to give thanks to everyone in the United Planet community, volunteers, host families, partners, ambassadors, team members, supporters, and friends.

A day to celebrate the extraordinary difference that people of all cultures and walks of life can create when they come together to serve, understand, and appreciate one another…

An enormous thank you to all! – Dave, Founder & President

In that spirit, we’d love to wish you a “Happy United Planet Day!”. May you celebrate by admiring the beauty of our cultural and global diversity and by taking a step – no matter how small – to bring this world, both near and far, closer together.

As Ryunosuke Satoro once said, “Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.”

There are no limits to what we can achieve when we work together.  The only thing that we have to lose is the missed opportunity.

The gift of your time truly makes a difference in the life that we serve together. Share your best volunteer pictures with us to celebrate our United Planet Day!

Do you have pictures that you love to share with us?

Pick your best 2 or 3 photos that celebrate community (locally or across the world):

* Post it on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook and don’t forget to tag us @UnitedPlanet and hashtag #HappyUnitedPlanetDay #UnitedPlanet so we can see your great shots.

OR

* Submit your photos by emailing them to submission@unitedplanet.org with “Happy United Planet Day – [Your Name]” in the subject line. We will do our best to get them on the site.

We love seeing your pictures and all the amazing moments that you have during your quest!

Thanks for joining us in celebrating United Planet Day!
