BOSTON, Massachusetts – FHI 360 has awarded United Planet a grant entitled Virtual Exchange Programs for English Language Educators Differentiation Learning Strategies to include English Language teachers from 31 different countries including Brazil, India, and Tanzania. The goal of the grant is to connect teachers and share best practices in creating responsive and flexible learning environments.
United Planet is partnering with FHI 360 to explore best practices for differentiated learning tools to accelerate English language acquisition. During the program, participants actively engage in weekly synchronous and asynchronous activities including live webinars and meetings, interactive forum discussions, readings, assignments, collaborative project work, and cultural activities. Participants complete the virtual exchange with a stronger sense of confidence about incorporating variety and different strategies to accommodate different learning styles.
Kristal Funk and Kelly Anastes Program Directors and facilitators, believe that this Virtual Teaching Exchange on differentiation will benefit students in many ways, “from our experiences in international education and multilingual classrooms, we know that differentiating the learning process and content for students not only enhances relationships and trust in the classroom but also creates the environment where learners thrive. Differentiation is empowering for students and should be demanded in all classrooms throughout the world as it provides the ultimate opportunity for student success.”
