Volunteers, we are celebrating YOU!
On December 5th, 2012, United Planet will be observing International Volunteer Day to recognize the dedication of volunteers, their spirit of service, and their efforts to make a difference in the world. This day is an opportunity for volunteer organizations and individual volunteers to bring awareness to their contributions- and for us to celebrate them! United Planet is entirely dependent upon its volunteers to spread the mission of cross-cultural understanding, and we are proud to have such a dedicated force venturing out all over the world, all year long.
This year, to celebrate all of the hard work volunteers are contributing globally, we have decided to create a Pinterest contest, through which volunteers can share their most heart-warming and inspiring photos from their volunteer work. The photos can celebrate your own volunteer experience or be inspirational ones you have created that speak to the mission of United Planet. We love creativity so show us what you’ve got! And of course, this contest is open to everyone around the world; volunteers are global and so is our appreciation for them.
The contest is simple- just follow the instructions below!
1. First and foremost, if you don’t have a Pinterest account – create one!
2. Search and follow the “International Volunteer Day Pinterest Contest” board on United Planet’s Pinterest page.
To join the contest, you must follow the board “International Volunteer Day Pinterest Contest” marked by the red arrows
3. We will then invite you to become a contributor to the board! You will receive a notification via email and on your Pinterest homepage when we do so.
4. Finally, Pin up to 5 original photos onto the board. Within the photo descriptions, mention @UnitedPlanet and hashtag #IVD2012.

On December 5th, we will select five winners to receive a United Planet T-Shirt or United Planet Water Bottle (trust me, they are awesome). Please pin all photos by December 4th to ensure that your photos are considered!
